|10:45 pm - Do not paint popcorn ceiling!|
Well, it looks like I learned this the hard way. I embarked on a project of painting a room that had popcorn ceiling. But first I wanted to remove the pocorn, partly because it was starting to peel, and mostly because we don't like it.
Unfortunately, when we moved into the house we painted it over, because we did not have time to remove the popcorn ceiling, even though we did not like it. Big mistake!
I started working on it this morning thinking, this will take me a couple of hours then I can paint the ceiling.... At first things moved smothely, and I was like, "this is a piece of cake", because it was peeling real quick in the middle areas, but as soon as I arrived near the edges, it was impossible to remove! it took me hours and hours and I felt that things were not moving along.
Searching the internet was not big help either, some suggested to spray it with water.... didn't work, some suggested vinegar, no help either.
So after a long day I was pretty much resigned to the fact that it will probably not finish this weekend!
I will try new ideas tomorrow, because no matter what, at the current pace what's left cannot be done in one day.
